I have a degree in industrial design.
it started off as a design concept, then the drawings came along. after the design was pretty much where I wanted it, I worked out the geometry & "transformation math". when that was done, all that needed doing was fabrication. :)

._. I... Transformation math? ...

dude... you get to work with a fabricator machine? i suspected, hell, i even considered trying to do my own robots using a fabricator... but you.. YOU ACTUAL DO IT. AND IT FRIKKEN TRANSFORMS

how do i get a job like THAT?

well... I do have access to a machine, but I make these without it. :)I'll get around to using the machine for this eventually though.

I call it "transformation math" because it's a lot of geometry moving around from one point to another, and trying to make it look exactly how you want it to. =)

I'm not sure, really. but I happen to work in a field where I can experiment with stuff like this during my free time.

but why wait 'til you have that specific job? anything's possible when you have the time & dedication to work on something :)

dark powers :)

it started off as a drawing, then it became 10 pages worth of drawings, then I built it with my trusty model-making tools.
