styrene tubing, from various hobby shops
i wish to make stuff like you do ( custom)
i do make models of aircraft and others but they are from premade kits ...
any idea where i could find those kind of plastic boards ? and what are their names ?
i use PVC boards, usually from 1mm to 3mm thickness, i get them from plastics distributors. you might want to do some research fist
the alternative is sheet styrene, but i rarely use the stuff 'cuz it's too expensive over here
and what do you mean, by "research" ?
research... well, you gotta find a plastics retailer near your area, or somebody that can ship the stuff to you. you're gonna want to look for the retailers selling any or all of the following: styrene, PVC, high impact polystyrene, and acrylic/plexiglass. all of them should be available in sheet form.
and brace yourself for the price tag on one of those sheets, 'cuz they usually sell 'em in big pieces. over here, they sell them in 4ft x 8ft sheets, which cost about $20 or so. but that 1 sheet is more than enough for a couple of projects
i've done about 12 projects so far, & i still haven't used up half of the stuff i bought
